First Quarter

Kindergarten

Kindergartener will be exploring the elements of art this quarter and creating their own Art Book. We will be working with color, texture, line, and pattern this quarter. Look forward to your child’s Art Book at the end of the quarter.

Grade One

Inspired by Keith Haring’s ‘Pop Art People’ grade one students will start the year using oil pastels to create their own ‘Pop Art People’ composition. We will be focusing on using primary and secondary colors to create these bold art pieces.

Grade Two

Grade two will start the year off with one of my favourite art projects. We will be creating prints inspired by the work of Keith Haring. Students will focus on the different ways to use line to create some unique prints.  

Grade Three

Staying with Keith Haring as our inspiration, grade three students will work with complementary colours to create some cut paper compositions. This intricate assignment should let them see the power of different color combinations.

Grade Four

We aren’t waisting anytime getting dirty in grade four, we will start the year off with a clay sculpture project inspired once again by Keith Haring. These fun filled sculptures are always a favourite with students.

Grade Five

Don’t tell Mrs. Graham, but we will start the year off with some dancing on the tables. We will work creating gesture drawings based on our freeze dance game.
